The Book Club presents Bookstock 2012 Sunday August 26th 12pm-8pm Leonard Street, Shoreditch, London EC2A

FREE ENTRY STREET PARTY *with wristbands

Bookstock packs a mighty punch, announcing its biggest lineup yet, and much more besides… All-day street festival in Shoreditch? YES!

Bookstock is back for round two. Festival fun comes to Shoreditch on Sunday August 26th for The Book Club’s extra special welly-free festival event, with Dub Pistols, We Were Evergreen, Mark Archer, Bikini Beach Band and many more. Let’s party!

Having announced they’re doing it all over again, bigger and better for 2012, Shoreditch favourite The Book Club has been working on a lineup to eclipse anything they’ve done before…

Punk-reggae party people Dub Pistols headline with a live set of classics and new material from latest album ‘Worshipping the Dollar’. Super cute French multi-instrumentalist folk trio We Were Evergreen promise an eclectic and sublime performance. Legendary acid house and techno DJ – co-founder of Altern8 – Mark Archer hosts a glo-in-the-dark neon ‘90s ping pong rave. A tongue-twisting genius back-to-the-old-school party that will go OFF in The Book Club’s banging basement.

The Bikini Beach Band pump out instrumental cover versions of all your favourite pop tunes in their own inimitable surf-noir, laid-back rock’n’roll style. Upcoming DJ collective Fleetmac Wood caused a stir recently with their first party, and for Bookstock they’re promising a block-rocking Fleetwood Mac party of enormous proportions. Chupacabra DJs offer a little of everything, from drum’n’bass to house, via electro swing. Compere for the day is DJ and blogger Reverend Milo Speedwagon. And there’s lots more still to come!

Celebrate the last bank holiday of 2012 with a whole day dedicated to music, dancing, dressing up, games, great food and flowing booze – and a whole lot of festival fun besides. Brought to you by Shoreditch venue The Book Club, Bookstock is Leonard Street’s answer to the summer festivals – and it’s a seriously big deal, with two new arenas, and even slicker production and sound for this year.

In true festival style, Bookstock offers several food options, with BOXPARK resident burger bosses Bukowski Grill setting up shop for the day, with a limited edition Bookstock burger on the menu. The Book Club’s chef will be whipping up some gorgeous grub in the TBC kitchen. And The Book Club will host a huge outdoor bar, offering cool cocktails, sparkling spritzers and real ale.

And that’s not all. It’s about more than just the music at Bookstock. There’ll be a magician roaming through the crowd, a comedian who’ll have you giggling into your pint, face painters to sparkle up your look, temporary tattoos for those who want to be painted, all kinds of fun and games, a photo booth and a fancy dress competition, with prizes for the best, most imaginative costumes! And The Book Club is working on adding even more music and activities for this very special event right in the heart of London’s creative East End.

A FREE street festival, Bookstock comprises several arenas, each offering the very best festival experiences. Music comes from live acts, DJs, dance troupes and performers. There’s all the fun of the fair, with entertainment coming from all corners; where everything has a musical twist – and everyone gets involved. Fill your bellies with delicious festival-inspired treats, and try every tipple on the menu at The Book Club’s special outdoor bar. There will be secret, silent, chill-out, and all-out party zones.

The Book Club launched Bookstock in 2011 as a standalone street festival event. Last year saw a packed lineup that entertained 4,000 people throughout the day. And this time will be even bigger and better! The Book Club still has a few tricks up its sleeve for Bookstock! Keep an eye on the Facebook event for more information and surprises.

Bookstock is FREE ENTRY all day*. The Book Club will be releasing priority wristbands in the coming weeks. Priority entry wristbands will be limited and will offer priority entry all day.
