Doune The Rabbit Hole Festival is looking for artworks and sculptures to decorate the festival programme and its new site at Duncarron Fort.
The organisers of the not for profit festival, which takes place on August 24th-26th, are looking for work to enhance the visual enjoyment of the site - a recreation of a medieval fort set in sheltered woodland and open grassland in the beautiful Carron Valley.
Dana MacPherson, art co-ordinator for the festival said, “There is a winding path up to the fort and we’d like to create an art treasure trail to make the site magical for kids and adults alike.”Artists should contact Dana at [email protected] with
• a description of your sculpture / installation idea,
• preparatory images or drawings in JPG or PDF format,
• the scale and measurements of your proposed work,
• any technical or building requirements.Artists whose work is chosen for the Festival will:
• receive a pair of weekend tickets to the Festival
• have their work published in the Festival program
• have an opportunity to exhibit and sell work at the Festival.
The deadline for submissions is May 1st 2012.
It may be possible to arrange a site visit for those interested in providing work for the festival. The site will be illuminated at night and work will be exhibited outdoors, although extremely limited space will be available indoors .
Doune The Rabbit Hole Festival is a family friendly events which takes place at Duncarron Fort on August 24th-26th 2012.
Musical guests announced so far include The Phantom Band, Sparrow & The Workshop, 3 Blind Wolves and Aidan Moffat & Bill Wells.
Tickets prices start at £48 with prices set to increase on March 1st when headliners will be announced.
Doune The Rabbit Hole is a not-for-profit music and arts festival taking place for the third year running. The festival aims to raise awareness of the benefits of creativity for children and adults alike. Originally sited near Doune, this year the festival moves to a new location at Duncarron, a recreation of a Medieval fort picture below.
