Guilfest have added Ash, ABC, The South, Heaven 17, The Beat, Republica, Andy C, Benga, Sub Focus (DJ set)Kids In Glass Houses, StooShe, to there already impressive line up

Alternative rockers Ash are the headliners for The Good Time Guide Stage on Sunday 15th July.  Since forming back in 1992, Ash have recorded a total of 6 studio albums, four of which have gone platinum with total sales of a massive 8 million worldwide!  Regarded as “the ultimate singles band”, they are responsible a total of 18 UK top 40 hits - such as “A Life Less Ordinary”, “Oh Yeah”, “Goldfinger”, “Shining Light”, and “Girl From Mars” amongst many others.  The band have played to sell out crowds all over the UK and Europe in their 20 year career, but this will be the first time they have appeared at GuilFest. 

New wave / Synth pop outfit ABC are set to headline The Good Time Guide Stage on Friday 13th July.  ABC are one of a few groups that can be credited for introducing a new sound into pop in the 1980s.  Their debut album “The Lexicon Of Love” is seen by many as the best British album of the decade and was released in May 1982, going straight into the UK album charts at number 1 and showcasing hit songs such as “Tears Are Not Enough”, “Poison Arrow”, “The Look Of Love”, and “All My Heart”.  Since then, ABC have released another 7 studio albums and have enjoyed success on both sides of the Atlantic, with ten UK top 40 singles as well as 5 US top 40 hits.

The South (formerly The Beautiful South) will be entertaining crowds on The Main Stage on Friday 13th July.  After 20 years, ten studio albums, five greatest hits compilations, thirty-four chart singles, 15 million record sales worldwide and performing in front of millions of fans, when time was called on The Beautiful South in 2008, not everyone was ready to leave the party.  Dave Hemingway and Ali Wheeler, lead singers with the band were having too much fun to get out the pipe and slippers, and so The South was formed.  This will be the second time the band has appeared at GuilFest, and armed with a sensational back catalogue of hits such as ‘Song For Whoever’, ‘Perfect Ten’, ‘Rotterdam’, ‘Don't Marry Her’, ‘You Keep It All In’, ‘Old Red Eyes Is Back’ and many others, it is sure to be a fantastic and memorable show.

Heaven 17 are to perform on The Good Time Guide Stage on Friday 13th July.  Best known for 1980s hits “Temptation”, “Come Live With Me”, and “Crushed By The Wheels Of Industry”, the band have released a total of 27 singles and 8 studio albums since their inception back in 1980.  Organisers are delighted to welcome them to GuilFest for the first time this summer.

2 tone ska revival band, The Beat, will headline The Vive La Rock Stage on Saturday 14th July.  Fronted by vocalist Ranking Roger, The Beat are responsible for UK top 10 hits “Mirror In The Bathroom”, their cover of Smokey Robinsons “Tears of a Clown”, “Hands off... She’s Mine”, “Too Nice to Talk To”, and “Can’t Get Used to Losing You”.  They ignited the crowds at GuilFest with their explosive brand of ska back in 2009 and this year’s performance is bound to be just as impressive.

Republica will be on The Main Stage on Saturday 14th July.  Famous for tracks such as “Ready to Go”, “From Rush Hour With Love”, and “Drop Dead Gorgeous”, the band describe their sound as techno-pop punk rock and are one of the most memorable of a wave of female fronted rock bands to emerge in the 1990s.

The godfather of Drum and Bass, Andy C is confirmed to headline The Kane FM presents Funky End Dance Tent on Saturday 14th July.  Regarded as one of the greatest DJs ever to touch a turntable, Andy C has been instrumental in the development of the Drum and Bass genre across the globe, since first playing out at events at almost two decades ago.  His technical skills really are second to none and this is backed up by the ridiculous amount of achievements and awards he has received, including DJ Magazine best D&B DJ (’06,’07,’08,’10), National D&B Awards Best DJ (’07,’08,’09,’10,’11), Drum and Bass Arena Awards Best DJ (’01,’02,’09,’10), Knowledge Mag Best DJ (’99,’00,’03) amongst many more.  He has also been voted 4th Greatest DJ of All Time in best selling dance music publication Mixmag.

Dubstep innovator and one of the biggest DJs in the genre, Benga is the headliner for The Kane FM presents Funky End Dance Tent on Friday 13th July.  Having released his debut 12” on one of dubstep’s founding labels Big Apple at the tender age of 15, Benga can be credited as truly one of the pioneers of the sound; and along with artists such as Coki, Skream and Loefah has really propelled dubstep into the global success it has become in the last few years.

Drum and Bass sensation Sub Focus will be headlining The Kane FM presents Funky End Dance Tent on Sunday 15th July.  With three UK Dance Chart number 1s under his belt, a top 40 UK single, remix work with huge artists such as The Prodigy & Deadmau5, and numerous plays on Radio 1, Sub Focus is one of a rare breed to Drum and Bass artists to have truly broken into the mainstream.

Welsh Rockers Kids In Glass Houses are to headline The Big Cheese Cave on Friday 13th July.  Having achieved success on the strength of the singles “Give Me What I Want” and “Saturday” from their debut album Smart Casual in 2008, the band released their second album Dirt in early 2010.  The band's third album, In Gold Blood, was released on 15 August 2011 and in the last 4 years they have performed at festivals and gigs all over the UK, toured with acts such as Funeral For a Friend, and You Me At Six, as well as been nominated as “Best British Newcomer” in the Kerrang Awards and received big support from rock media such as NME, XFM and Radio 1.

Last but by no means least, new three piece British pop/RnB sensation StooShe are to perform on The Main Stage on Sunday 15th July.  Nominated for The BBC’s Sound of 2012 poll as well as T4’s rising Stars of 2012, their first single “Love Me” was released in March this year and debuted at number 5 in the UK singles chart.  Their widely anticipated first album “Swings & Roundabouts” is due to drop in June 2012.

There are still many more acts still to be announced for this year’s festival and the line up will take shape over the coming weeks - with over 200 performers across a massive 12 stages at the festival.  This year is looking to be a sell out year so get your tickets quick to avoid disappointment.
