There’s just over three weeks to go until Bestival 2011 and, as we approach the final countdown to the festival season’s epicurean finale, you really need to get in there quick and grab yourself a ticket to guarantee that you’ll be at the party of the year featuring a litany of legendary musical giants, some of the greatest new bands known to humanity and more madcap merriment and mayhem than you could possibly imagine. That’s right, we’re in last chance saloon, tickets are flying out of the door and we’re on course to sell out by the end of the week, so don’t dilly-dally if you want to join us for some unparalleled fun taking place from September 8 - 11 at Robin Hill Country Park in the heart of the Isle of Wight.
Rob da Bank says: ‘Well what a year of festivals it’s been! And now Bestival's about to sell out again... with possibly our strongest line-up of musical acts and mad, creative mayhem yet. It’s a tribute to our Bestival faithful that you keep coming back year after year with all your eccentric ideas, escapist outfits and finely tuned musical brains. Thanks for the support and see you down the front on Thursday night!’
Headline sets from The Cure, Björk and Pendulum are just the tip of our iceberg of indulgence, as you can expect a weekend filled with revelry and rejoicing to sets from the likes of Brian Wilson, PJ Harvey, Public Enemy, Village People, Mogwai, Katy B, Crystal Castles, Patrick Wolf, 2 Bears, James Blake, Zola Jesus, Zane Lowe, Annie Mac and sound systems galore. And, of course, outlandish and eccentric enchantments are never far away at Bestival. With firm favourites The Wishing Tree, Tomorrow’s World Eco Village, Come Dancing, Time For Tease, Arcadia presents The Afterburner & Lords of Lightning, Bollywood Bar, Club DaDa and the Polka Tent returning and the brand new Swamp Shack, Ambient Forest and mother of all Roller Discos adding to the dizzying delights, we’re set for a jumbo weekend of joy.
