The Coalescence Collective are back at Blissfields 2012 with an even bigger, meaner and brighter Hidden Hedge. 

During the day the Hedge will be transformed for the first time into The Acoustic Stage, which will be debuting at Blissfields this year. This includes a live radio show with selected artists on the Friday morning from Express FM. It will also showcase acts from: Turf Records, paraDYse & Beans on Toast See below for the amazing Acoustic Stage Lineup with more to be confirmed!

This year they have more artistic contributors with live acts kicking off each night from 8-10 p.m. featuring Amongst the Pigeons, heath:ward, Remnant Psyche, Science of Eight Limbs, Transend and a special live performance from Dr Strangelove’s Burlesque Discotheque. 

 Then they have what you know and love The Hedge for.... storming DJ sets! Including electronica, dubstep, jungle and more from 10-4 p.m. Showcasing some of the best DJs around including: Mary Miss Fairy, Alex the Kidd, Andy Oliver, Dan Hayes (Subgiant), Dan Munrow, Digits McPhee (Shuddervision), Envious Mind, Jetpack Assassin, and Kursa. Along with VJs Visualante, Wub World and Magnetic Mirror.

And, AND, even more lasers, strobes and smoke machines from the NorthernLights Collective and Striking Lighting. Sound and DJ sets from Shudder Vision. A separate chill out zone with sofas, special effects, stunning sound and projections from Magnetic Mirror, VJ Visulante and  Wubworld.   Plus more mad sculptural installations and lighting effects adorning the hedge from Coalescence Collective than you can waive your stick at. Additional DJ’s to be announced and many more contributors helping to make this our best Hidden Hedge event to date.

Beans on Toast Presents: Blissfields favourite Beans will be hosting some of his favourite acoustic acts......with more acoustic showcases to be added.

HOUSE CAPTAIN COMPETITION

Blissfields needs you! Enter amazing competition for house captains.

They are looking for candidates with the spunk to not only lead their houses to victory at The Sports Day Events but to generally rally the troops, and bring out the best in your house this year.

So what should you expect if you get chosen as a house captain?  Not only will you be rewarded by a free ticket but three of your closest friends will also be able to 

Your campsite area, marked out specifically for you and designated with the house flag, will become the common room for your house from where you can work to bring out the best in your compatriots!  

To help you in coming up with the best ideas you will be rewarded with a generous amount of free beer, and as an incentive the captain of the winning house at sports will get a ten year free pass to Blissfields! The other captains will get a five year pass. Your duties will also extend to receiving the sports trophies and other fun duties during the weekend.

THE COMPETITION

 Applying here will be easy, answer the questions in the application form and they will choose four candidates to run for each house as captain. On the Blissfields facebook page they will then run a competition to find out who is the most popular amongst their "class mates". Friends, old and new will be able to vote for you by viewing your mandate for captaining!  The most popular, with the most votes, will  be chosen for that house on April 30th 2012. The only question now is which house do you want to captain?

BRADLEY - Bradley House values the heritage and history laid down by years of Blissfields tradition. The oldest of the houses, this is for upstanding Blissfields alumni that still remember the Mystery Jets playing on a grass covered stage, tractor rides with Marcus Mumford, but above all else, uphold the core values and ethos of the festival. 

BENTWORTH -  Bentworth was founded by the quirky outsiders of Blissfields. Those for whom a line-up has no bearing, tossing aside their shorts and flip-flops for a Kigurumi, jumping into the unknown, unplanned and obscure. You’ll find their common room wall to wall with Che Guevara flags and psychedelia. These left-field members represent a certain free spirit of Blissfields. 

CANDOVER - The brains of Blissfields, Candover House is for those who seek out brilliance at the festival. Arty, creative, hands-on, first to wake and last to bed; they’re at the front of every show, and know when every act is on. They’ve done their homework, will absorb every angle, and will remember every last minute of Blissfields. 

WALLOP - Wallop’s values are a little less orthodox than other houses; celebrating anarchy, mischief and self-fulfillment. Their common room is somewhere between the Hidden Hedge and Main Bar, used rarely before the sun goes down. Representatives of Wallop will often find themselves up to no good and exploring the grounds after lights out, while embracing the party atmosphere.
