Brisfest, the city's biggest music event, and the festival is on course to sell out again according to organisers. Brisfest, which is almost entirely run by volunteers, will take place on September 21 and 22 with around 20,000 people expected to head to Ashton Court for the festival's second year at the estate. 

Arena fillers Primal Scream will headline the event alongside chart toppers Toddla T Sound and house royalty Fabio & Grooverider. Also at the top of the bill are Zinc & Dynamite MC, DJ EZ, Spector, Fenech-Soler, the original king of rap, Kurtis Blow, and The Nextmen. 

As always, Brisfest will also feature the cream of local talent, representing all genres, with over 200 acts from all over the South West including George Ezra, Yes Sir Boss, Young Kato, the Cadbury Sisters, Dr Meaker and so many more. 

With 15 stages to choose from Brisfest prides itself on offering something for everyone with a line-up chosen by a diverse range of programmers including local graffiti artist and Weapon of Choice Gallery owner Cheba; Bristol’s favourite late night live music haunt, Mr Wolf’s; BBC Introducing; roots and folk label Jelli Records; Nokia Music and Colston’s Hall’s Remix. The club scene is well represented too with the likes of WILD, Neverlution and Unity (a collection of all of Bristol’s major club nights) involved. 

Brand new for this year are the roaming Arcadia Bug Stage, as seen at Glastonbury and Boomtown Fair, and the dub and reggae Sound Clash area where traditional soundsystems will face each other off in a battle of the basslines! 

In addition to the 200 plus acts on offer, Brisfest will also feature a funfair, a body and soul healing area, comedy programmed by local funny man Mark Olver, the incredible Police Rave Unit, a kids area complete with kids stage and workshops programme, cinema tent and dance workshops, live painting by some of Bristol’s top graffiti artists, street theatre and walkabout performers, delicious local cuisine and much, much more. 

“We had an incredible year in 2012, selling out 20,000 tickets and moving to our “spiritual home” of Ashton Court,” said Poppy Stephenson, Brisfest Director. “Brisfest 2013 is going to be even better with more music, more stages and venues and some practical improvements on last year including loads more bars and toilets! It's going to be another sell out so if you haven't got your ticket already, do it now!
