Folk By The Oak have announced that Cara Dillon will play an exclusive set at the Festival, taking place at Hatfield House on Sunday 24 July, bringing together an all-star line-up of musicians. Curated by Cara, this very special performance will include old friends & new collaborations, including a special guest performance by Jamie Lawson, whose 2015 top 10 single Wasn’t Expecting That took the seasoned performer to international fame and acclaim, and recently gained a nomination for Best Song Musically and Lyrically in the prestigious Ivor Novello Awards. Also joining Cara for this once in a lifetime set are: AndyIvine, KrisDrever and MikeMcGoldrick.
AfroCeltSoundSystem are set to perform a unique and energetic main stage finale which in true Folk by the Oak style will be accompanied by a choreographed firework display.
With Lau, FalseLights, folk ‘supergroup’ SweetLiberties (featuring MartynJoseph, Nancy Kerr, Sam Carter, Maz O’Connor, Patsy Reid and Nick Cooke), transatlantic duo Martin Simpson & Dom Flemons (of the Carolina Chocolate Drops) and Radio 2 Folk Singer of the Year nominee Emily Portman with The Coracle Band all booked for the main stage, Folk by the Oak are continuing their reputation for producing a ‘line-up of headliners’ for their one day festival.
Headlining the Acorn Stage this year is the hugely talented and energetic Calan, who bring a contemporary and lively approach to traditional Welsh music. The addition of traditional Dublin four piece Lynched (also nominated for several Radio 2 Folk Awards - Best Group, Best Album, Horizon Award), the exciting new bluegrass inspired four piece CardboardFox, the delicate and enthralling RheingansSisters (Best Original Track winners at the Folk Awards), local emerging talent KellyOliver and finally the London Youth Folk Ensemble, the combination of these 2 packed stages and the compact and leafy site ensure a full day of back to back sublime folk and acoustic music.
