The capital’s acclaimed Swn will take over the Walled Garden Stage at Green Man 2012 on Friday August 17th with a special line-up of amazing new music, including the hotly tipped Lucy Rose, KWES, Mowbird and Vadoinmessico. They will also be bringing a super team of DJs to round off the day in style!
Swn Festival is an urban, multi-venue three-day event that takes place across Cardiff each October (18th-21st this year!). They also promote fantastic gigs all year round under the Swn name.
Organisers Huw Stephens and John Rostron said: “Swn is delighted to be hosting the stage on Friday at Green Man! We have been fans of the festival and the music it hosts for years, and so to bring some of our favourite new artists to the stunning site this year is a total joy.”
Since 2007, Swn has proudly championed homegrown Welsh talent such as Cate le Bon and Joy Formidable whilst attracting top acts from around the world including Veronica Falls, The Drums, Wild Beasts and Edwyn Collins.
Huw and John are no strangers to Glanusk Park, having been to pretty much every Green Man Festival in years gone by. Together, Green Man and Swn (pronounced “soon” and meaning ‘sound’) share a common vision of promoting and celebrating the best new music coming in and out of Wales, and the UK as a whole.
Green Man would like to raise a glass of something strong to welcome Swn to his 10th annual festival this August, and wish you all a very Happy St David’s Day (Dydd Gwyl Dewi)– Hapus wherever you are. Iechyd da!
