James Murphy (LCD Soundsystem, DFA) and David and Stephen Dewaele (Soulwax/2ManyDjs) have joined forces to create a unique clubbing experience ‘DESPACIO’ bringing an analogue night into a digital world. photo DESPACIO_zpsa0ee9867.jpg

Heading to London for the first time this December ‘DESPACIO’ will see James Murphy, Stephen and David Dewaele host a two night DJ residency, playing a vinyl-only set in the stunning Ballroom of Hammersmith Town Hall. Drinks will be supplied by the award-winning cocktail bar and restaurant The Clove Club

At the heart of ‘DESPACIO’’ is a one-of-a-kind custom built sound system designed James Murphy by renowned audio technician/engineer John Klett and powered by sound experts McIntosh and  is provided courtesy of Jordan Acoustics. Consisting of seven 50,000-watts, eleven-foot tall speakers that surround the audience, they combine to create an immersive and unique clubbing experience unlike no other.

Stephen, David and James will be digging deep in their vast record collections to play an all vinyl selection of the tracks that they think will sound the best on the biggest audiophile soundsystem in existence.

Originally conceived as a dream party in Ibiza, DESPACIO made its world debut this July at the Manchester International Festival. Talking of its conception they all explain “We were like: we need a night here. We wanted a billboard which didn’t look like any of the other shitty billboards. Something that was just a different thing. We were like, “Let’s have a party, it’ll be regular, let’s build a sound system…”

‘DESPACIO’ is bringing the focus back on the audio-experience, offering an unforgettable awe-inspiring night like no other. Describing ‘DESPACIO’ they explain “We’re the projectionists – that’s the screen. We’re at the back of the living room facing the listening experience.”

So maybe don’t take pictures, maybe don’t take videos but maybe be at DESPACIO, just for tonight!
