“An intimate festival with a big heart” The Herald.

Doune The Rabbit Hole returns – with a new home and a bumper line-up set to make its mark on the Scottish Music Festival calendar. Taking place on August 24th-26th the not-for-profit festival will this year move to a new site at Duncarron Fort in the Duncarron Valley. Duncarron Fort is being constructed by the Clanranald Trust as a full-scale replica of a medieval fortified village. It is currently under construction but by August it will be in perfect shape to host a music festival. Set in the beautiful Carron Valley, only half an hours drive from Glasgow, 45 minutes from Edinburgh and within shuttle-able distance of Croy Railway station. We think you’ll find our new home to be more magical, more mystical and certainly more medieval than anything we could have imagined.

You can see pictures of the site and the fort being built here We are now proud to announce that our musical line-up so far includes: the cult Chemikal Underground phantasmagorical psych-rock of The Phantom Band; the uncompromising poetry and inimitable jazz of Aidan Moffat & Bill Wells; this year’s SXSW alt-country contenders Three Blind Wolves and multinational folk rockers Sparrow & The Workshop to name but a few.

There are still more headliners to be announced for the whole weekend but so far the list of bands playing at the festival is shaping up to be even more of a musical treat than last year.

The list of acts confirmed so far includes: The Phantom Band, Aidan Moffat & Bill Wells, Three Bline Wolves, Sparrow & The Workshop, Laura J Martin, David Barbarossa, Sophie Ramsay, Holy Mountain, The Cosmic Dead, The Rudiments, Les BOF!, The John Knox Sex Club, Driver Drive Faster, Olympic Swimmers, Jouis, Adam Stearns & The Glass Animals, Helicon, Kochka, The Second Hand Marching Band, Captain Slackhip's Mezzanine Allstars, The Plimptons, Ceylan Hay, The Forgotten Works, Loch Awe, Pumajaw, Rail Fan, John Knox Sex Club, Olympic Swimmers, Galoshin, Dead Saints Bones, and many more...
