Download is back and ready to rock your rocks off!
This weekend the biggest artists in rock and metal are back on the hallowed ground of Donington, the spiritual home of rock, with 5 stages and over 140 artists this is sure to be one hell of a loud party.
Download is a unique festival, there is nothing really like it and the atmosphere is second to no other festival in the UK. The genre of rock / metal is one of solitude and you really have to experience it. What other festival will you see 14 year olds rocking out with their dads, middle aged men playing air guitar as if their lives depended on it and looking after each other in the brutal mosh pits that spring up all around the site? Download is where.
Highlights this year include the return of The Darkness, Alice Cooper’s full stage production and the return of the mighty System of a Down, a full supporting cast of new and established artists will bring the masses to the alter of rock.
Pick of the bands include Black Stone Cherry (Friday afternoon on the main stage) who have just released their stunning 3rd album “Between the devil and the deep blue sea”. Skindred play the main stage on Saturday afternoon, but organiser Andy Copping has pulled a fluffy white bunny out of the hat and given them a headlining spot on the acoustic Jagermeister stage on Friday. Rob Zombie headlines the 2nd stage on Sunday and has promised a spectacular show.
Tickets are still available and will also be available from the box office on site.
See you in the pit
