Since last month’s announcement that tickets have sold out at record speed, the End of the Road Festival has been getting hundreds of enquiries regarding availability of fair-price resale tickets.

To combat touting, the festival today announces it will be participating in the Association of Independent Festivals’ secure ethical ticket exchange The Ticket Trust.

The Ticket Trust will enable festival-goers to safely, securely and ethically sell their tickets for sold out events and, following verification that tickets are genuine, it will allow those tickets to be purchased at face value without fear of fraud.

Said Sofia Hagberg, a director of End of the Road Festival: “Our audience isn’t the kind that would buy tickets to sell for a profit, however, touts do. And since the new wave of secondary ticketing outlets that is now available online, there is even more of this happening, with extremely inflated prices. This affects the genuine festival fans, who for one reason or another didn’t manage to buy their tickets in time. It’s not ethical, it’s not right, it’s not on!”

The 6th edition of the festival will be headlined by Joanna Newsom, Mogwai and Beirut and also features a UK festival exclusive from Midlake - plus appearances from Lykke Li, Laura Marling, The Fall, Wild Beasts, The Walkmen, Tinariwen, M Ward, Gruff Rhys, Joan as Police Woman, Okkervil River, Phosphorescent and former Czars singer John Grant as well as comedy, literature, art, peacocks, astoundingly good food and an enchanted wood full of mindbending surprises and the occasional disco.
