ALL-STAR ‘RUMOURS’ & MICHELIN-STARRED FOOD
As the ‘Rumours’ start to fly about who will join their Truck All Stars super-group to bring this year’s festival to a suitably exuberant close on Sunday when they perform Fleetwood Mac’s classic ‘77 album in full with guest vocalists (Sarah Cracknell’s just confirmed she’ll be one of them, bets are currently being placed on who will be representing Nicks, Buckingham etc…), the Bennett brothers are thrilled to announce a last minute addition to this year’s event in the form of chef Andrea Mantovani. Having just left Michelin starred Mayfair restaurant Wild Honey to start his own restaurant Mere ét Pere in Soho, Mantovani will be stopping over at Hill Farm to provide Truckers with gazpacho, Maccheroncini pasta, new season lamb, oregano ragu and more.
For the first time at Truck, the team behind the Princess Victoria in Shepherd's Bush and Henry Root in Chelsea will provide a fine dining area for festival goers to sit with friends and enjoy delicious feasts, the like of which Steventon has never seen, all to be washed down with a glass of biodynamic natural wine or an organic Fair Trade espresso. There will also be take-out boxes so music lovers can enjoy fine dining without missing the bands plus vegetarian options. For Truckers of the more traditional persuasion they needn’t worry, the Rotary Club will still be in their usual spot serving burgers for £4 and there will be pints of locally-produced lager for only £3.50 from Truck Bar.
FUSS-FREE CAMPING COURTESY OF TANGERINE FIELDS
SHOWERS FOR THE FIRST TIME AT TRUCK
For those keen on festival-going without the fuss then Tangerine Fields are on hand with ready pitched and fully-equipped tents on the Hill Farm site. All Truckers need to do is buy a weekend ticket and then book with Tangerine Fields for a two, four, six or eight person tent that will be kitted out with airbeds and sleeping bags. Festival goers can book now through #mce_temp_url#and then just rock up on site, chuck their bags in their tent and swiftly hot foot it to the stages (via the bar) for their first sing-along of the weekend.
Truck organisers are also happy to announce that for the first time, thanks to a new permanent water mains connection, the site will offer showers adjacent to the new Wood Field. Only fitting now Truck is a full three-day festival.
