The UK's largest free folk festival 'Leigh Folk Festival' has revealed the first wave of artists heading to the Essex coast in June, they include celebrated comedian and folk singer Richard Digance, the Emily Askew Band, Alasdair Roberts, Amble Skuse & David McGuinness, and local jazz legend Digby Fairweather and his band.
Also added to the bill are the French vocal trio Tartine De Clous, the new folk collective Bird in the Belly plus Stick in the Wheel, You are Wolf, and Doom Bird of Providence.
Leigh Folk Festival takes place from Thursday 21st - Sunday 24th June in the bars, clubs and outside venues in Leigh on Sea. The festival programme includes music, dance, poetry, storytelling and street theatre event which the town, the Essex area, and the whole country has taken to its heart since its beginnings in 1992. Now a landmark of the local calendar, the festival has expanded enormously and has been embraced by performers and festival goers alike, attracting visitors to Leigh from across the world.
