Green Man Festival has unveiled a new performing arts area 'Back Of Beyond' which will play host to spectacular circus and dance, mischievous encounters and make believe moments with some of Wales’ most talented performers.
At dusk each evening, Citrus Arts & Circomedia will present ‘Precipice’ - an intimate fiery spectacle of circus theatre that follows a hardy band of mountain explorers struggling to overcome the contortions of their altitude-addled minds as they attempt to make history by scaling the world’s mightiest mountain.
In addition The National Dance Company Wales will be premiering their first ever festival piece at Green Man. ‘Animatorium’ sees the troupe of award-winning dancers brought to life, animated and controlled by a charming yet sinister Master character. This will be a quirky and comic performance, filled with theatricality and humour while also harbouring some delightfully dark undertones.
Other pop-up arts experiences around site will include surreal roving theatre from Wet Picnic, the puppeteers from Royal Welsh College of Music & Drama, inclusive theatre from Taking Flight Theatre, Clik Clik Collective’s Cabinet of Strange Reflections, comedy hoop routines from Sparkles Hoop Troupe, theatrical glitter makeovers and ceilidh dancing with Salon Mirela, intimate folk gigs with Folk in a Box, Burnt Toast’s mobile time-travelling post-office, crazy singalongs with Mariachi El Pinche Gringo and Shakespeare scenes from Gwent Young People’s Theatre.
Now in its 14th year, Green Man is an award-winning independent music and arts festival held in the breathtaking surroundings of the Brecon Beacons, Wales. Confirmed to perform so far at this year's festival are Belle & Sebastian, James Blake, Laura Marling, Wild Beasts, Warpaint, Lush PLUS many, many more. Green Man hosts ten wild lands overflowing with the best in music, comedy, literature, films, yoga and well-being. Plus there’s something for all the family with a huge offering for Little Folk and science discoveries a-plenty to be made with Einstein’s Garden.
