American Soul and Gospel legend, Candi Staton will be performing on The Main Stage on Sunday 15th July.  Candi’s voice has captivated generation after generation of music lovers over the globe, and with an illustrious musical career spanning almost 60 years she has an extensive discography consisting of a massive twenty eight studio albums and thirteen singles. Hits such as 1970’s remake of Tammy Wynette’s “Stand By Your Man”, 1976’s “Young Heart’s Run Free”, 1977’s “Nights on Broadway”, and 1986’s “You Got The Love” have cemented her place as a true icon in music history.  “You Got The Love” has been remade countless times, becoming a UK top ten hit an unbelievable 4 times - in 1991, 1997, 2006 and 2010 by artists including Florence & The Machine, New Eren and Now Voyager.  It even became Florence and The Machine’s most successful track and first ever top ten hit.  Organisers are truly delighted to welcome Candi to GuilFest for the first time this July.

Godfathers of Punk-pop, Buzzcocks will be bringing their inimitable style to GuilFest on Friday 13th July, where they will be headlining the Vive Le Rock Punk and Ska Stage.  One of the most influential bands of the punk era, Buzzcocks have been cited as inspirational by artists as diverse as REM, Nirvana and Green Day.  Best known for enormous hits “Orgasm Addict”, “Harmony In My Head”, and of course the seminal classic “Ever Fallen In Love (With Someone You Shouldn’t’ve)”, they have been responsible for a total of eight studio albums and twenty four singles since their inception back in 1976.  Their name was also used as the title for the hugely popular BBC quiz show “Never Mind The Buzzcocks”, with host Mark Lamarr once commenting “without Buzzcocks there’d be no Smiths or Radiohead, and this show would be called Never Mind Joan Armatrading!”

Punk rockers The Undertones are confirmed to headline the Vive Le Rock Stage on Sunday 15th July.  Formed in 1975, the band released a total of thirteen singles and four studio albums before their split in 1983 – including the anthem “Teenage Kicks”, a well loved track that, following a Radio 1 play on the late John Peel’s show in 1978, got The Undertones their first record deal with Sire Records.  Teenage Kicks was often cited by John Peel as his favourite song and went on to become the band’s best known and signature track.  The Undertones reformed in 1999 with Paul McLoone replacing vocalist Feargal Sharkey, and have since then released two original albums and performed several tours across the UK, Ireland, Europe and North America.  In a 2000 poll by Q magazine, The Undertones debut LP was voted 90th in the 100 Greatest British Albums of All Time.

Californian Blues Rock/Soul artist Beth Hart will be entertaining crowds on The Main Stage on Friday 13th July.  A platinum selling artist in her own right, Beth has worked with huge icons such as Slash, Deep Purple, Les Paul and Joe Bonamassa, recording a critically acclaimed album “Don’t Explain” with the latter in 2011.  This will be her first appearance at GuilFest and is not to be missed! - Her live performances are well documented for their rawness and intensity, and Beth’s unique ability to captivate and genuinely move her audience.

Buckinghamshire based Alt. Rockers Young Guns are the headliners for The Big Cheese Cave on Sunday 15th July.  Despite being relatively early in their musical career, Young Guns can lay claim to sell out headline shows around the UK, high profile support slots with artists such as Bon Jovi and Lostprophets, magazine covers and even an appearance on The Main Stage at Reading Festival.  Their first album, “All Our Kings Are Dead” was well received by critics and rock fans alike, hitting the number 3 spot in both the UK Indy and UK Rock Charts.  “Bones”, their 2012 follow up replicated this initial success, this time hitting the number 3 and number 2 spots respectively.  Their live sets have been described as “truly superb”, and “involving and energetic” – there is no doubt that their performance at GuilFest will enthral.

“Scrumpy & Western” Somerset based band The Wurzels are performing on The Second Stage on Sunday 15th July.  In their 40 year history, The Wurzels have performed in front of audiences including The Queen and The Pope as well as at countless festivals and have appeared on television programmes including The One Show, Top Of The Pops and Nevermind the Buzzcocks.  Their greatest hits album has sold over 80,000 copies, while their famous track “Combine Harvester” sold over 1 million copies back in 1976.  The Wurzels continue to play over 100 shows a year to sell out crowds all over the country and organisers are delighted to welcome them back to GuilFest again for some good ol’ fashioned cider drinking fun.

The already fantastically eclectic line up at this year’s festival will balloon to an incredible 200 acts across 12 stages of great music, comedy and theatre.  Elsewhere at the festival you can find a wealth of attractions designed to keep the whole family engaged for three sun-blissed days in the idyllic setting of Stoke Park, Guildford.  For the really young ones, there is the GuilFest Kidzone - featuring entertainers, rides, activities and even guest VIP appearances from well known children’s icons; whilst around the site you can enjoy food and drink from around the world, the massive 150ft bar featuring real ale, cocktail bars, arts and crafts, street performers and plenty more.  Next door there is even Guildford Lido – a 50m outdoor swimming pool set in lush rolling countryside with showers, as well as Guildford Spectrum, a state of the art leisure centre with activities including swimming, ice skating and ten pin bowling!
