Due to the closure of the Robin Hood line from Saturday 10th September until Monday 12th September, all Headstock Festival goers will now be offered free camping. Replacement buses will be running instead of trains, however organisers felt that free camping offered festival goers an alternative solution.
As an additional incentive to stay the weekend, there will be entertainment on the Friday night for those able to join the party early. Trains will run to Newstead as normal on Friday 9th September and to get the event started Nick Harper will be playing and Craig Charles will be performing a DJ set, supported by Pete Woosh, Osborne Daniels and David Brooks who will be getting everyone into the festival spirit.
For those not able to join in the fun from Friday, night a replacement bus service will run on the Robin Hood line. Trains will run as normal on Friday night with the last train leaving Newstead at 23:05 arriving at Nottingham at 23:25 and normal service will resume from Monday morning. The regular Nottingham to Newstead bus service continues to run as normal during the festival.
The organisers are also looking into alternative transport options and updates will be posted on their website – www.headstockfestival.com.
Anyone who has already purchased a camping ticket online will get an automatic refund. For those customers who’ve bought a ticket directly from an outlet, refunds will also be available either from your vendor, or at the festival itself, with proof of purchase.
Camping on the Festival site will not be permitted without a valid Headstock Festival ticket.
Last year’s Headstock was runner up for Best New Festival at the UK Festival Awards, and can be seen on Newstead Villages SOS, which will air on Sunday September 4th on BBC One.
