Tickets for the second Honeyfest go on sale today (Friday 18th November) from 9am! Honeyfest is the first festival of the season taking place on Saturday 14th April 2012 and is a magical one-day, 3,500 capacity event in the heart of Wiltshire. Set in an ancient area steeped in folklore, crop circles and heritage, last year’s inaugural Honeyfest hosted a line-up of high caliber artists that wouldn’t normally be seen in such an intimate festival setting including Laura Marling, Damien Rice, Magic Numbers & Dry the River.
Launching with a strong reputation in the first year, a BBC documentary broadcast about the making of Honeyfest & it has close links with the community after coming into fruition to rejuvenate village life as part of the BBC and National Lottery’s Village SOS project. The 2012 event will see Honeyfest flourish on a new site, supporting local artists and bringing a Spring-time celebration like no other.
The 2012 instalment of Honeyfest aims to set the musical standard just as high and the Honeyfest bees are busy laying all the foundations for what promises to be a spectacular springtime soiree! Watch this space for all upcoming line up announcements.
Thinking Local is a big part of Honeyfest. Local music talent is supported with the ‘Battle of the Bands’ competition winners being given their chance on the big stage. Locally produced food and drink, sold alongside other items and services from local suppliers, is central to the ethos of the festival. Local volunteers make up a percentage of the festivals staff. 2012 will maintain the theme of Village SOS, along with the continued association with the Barge Inn Community Project.
