The Isle of Wight Festival is in its 10th year and to celebrate it has brought together not only its strongest line up, but potentially the best line up of all the ‘major’ festivals this year.

The fun starts on Thursday in the Big Top with some of the New Romantic  greats of the 80’s, reliving the days of the Blitz Club.  In addition the Last Chance Saloon serves up a music quiz and Pump Up The Jam Disco 2000 Roadshow.

Friday

The Main Stage sees the return of Kings of Leon headline with their only UK Festival appearance, plus the return of Leeds finest Kaiser Chiefs  to the UK festival scene , ably supported by The Courteeners and Band of Horses.

The Big Top sees Joan Jett & The Blackhearts back in the UK plus X Factor winner Alexandra Burke, amongst a wealth of other great female artists.

Saturday

The Main Stage sees the mighty Foo Fighters headlining with what is sure to be a set of classics from their back catalogue together with material from their latest album Wasting Lights.  Saturday also sees the much heralded return of Pulp, I’m sure Jarvis and the boys will take you down memory lane with some performing some of the iconic songs of the nineties.  Also on the main stage is the God Father of Punk, Iggy Pop and the living legend that is Seasick Steve.

The Big Top has a varied line up with something for everyone, the headliners are the dub step/drum and bass sensation  Chase & Status , plus the boy from valleys made good Tom Jones.

Sunday’s

The main stage headliners are the ultimate ‘lads’ band Kasabian performing some of the great rock anthems of the noughties.   Jeff Beck arguably the greatest guitarist the world has ever seen is Sunday’s special guest, there won’t be too much conversation as he will allow the guitar to do the talking.  There will also be performances from Beadyeye, and the ever popular Plan B.

The Big Top has a rock feel to it throughout the day with the Manic Street Preachers headlining, ably supported by the reformed PIL , I’m sure Mr Lydon will have something up his sleeve to shock the crowd.

The Garden Stage is headlined by It’s a beautiful day and also includes an acoustic set from Tim Burgess & Mark Collins from The Charlatans.

Throughout the weekend the Last Chance Saloon will have various entertainments to keep the masses happy.
