Jeff Lynne’s ELO has been announced as the first headliner for BST Hyde Park 2025, marking their farewell performance on Sunday, 13 July. Tickets for this historic event go on general sale at 9 am BST on Friday, 25 October.
Celebrating a career that began in Birmingham and shaped the sound of modern music, ELO’s farewell show follows the conclusion of their "Over and Out" US tour. Frontman Jeff Lynne reflected on the significance of returning to Hyde Park, where their 2014 tour began, calling it the perfect venue for their final UK show. “We couldn’t be more excited to share this special night in London with our UK fans,” Lynne stated.
Recognized as one of the most influential bands in music history, ELO is renowned for blending rock, pop, and classical music into a ground breaking sound. Their legacy includes over 50 million records sold and more than 20 Top 40 hits across the US and UK, including iconic tracks like Mr. Blue Sky, Don’t Bring Me Down, and Evil Woman. Jeff Lynne, a prolific songwriter and producer, has also been a co-founder of The Traveling Wilburys alongside legends George Harrison, Bob Dylan, Roy Orbison, and Tom Petty. Lynne has collaborated with major artists like The Beatles, Paul McCartney, and Ringo Starr.
The band’s live shows are known for their spectacular production, complete with their signature UFO stage design, string sections, and cutting-edge technology that faithfully recreates ELO’s distinctive recordings. Their farewell performance at Hyde Park promises to deliver this immersive experience one last time.
Jim King, CEO of European Festivals at AEG Presents, called the event an extraordinary moment in music history.
Hosting their final performance at BST Hyde Park is a true honour, especially 30 years after their first festival show in the same park, BST Hyde Park 2025 will be a fitting send-off for one of Britain’s most beloved bands.
Tickets go on general sale Friday 25th October.
