Jimmy Somerville is set to release his new single Travesty, which will be available to download from 7th November. This joyous dance floor filler joins Back To Me as a taster of his forthcoming album due for release in 2015.
‘It’s everything I’ve ever loved all squashed into this big blender of disco’ enthuses Somerville. ‘I just whacked it on to full power’. Lyrically split into two parts, the first expressing sadness for the current human condition and the second filled with optimism and hope, Travesty is a bold, epic tribute to the disco classics Somerville grew up with and was inspired by.
His forthcoming album, due for release in 2015 will follow suit and will see Somerville capturing the excitement of the Disco era through his own compositions.
