Larmer Tree Festival is very pleased to welcome Joss Stone to this year’s festival. The free-spirited Grammy award winning soul diva will be making a special guest appearance to perform with Yes Sir Boss on Thursday 12th July.
The “You Had Me” singer’s gravelly but lustrous vocals will bring an extra treat to an already great evening of entertainment on Thursday as she joins Yes Sir Boss on the Main Stage. Larmer Tree audiences only have to wait a few weeks to see Joss and her trademark dancing barefoot onstage! Currently gigging with the band in Holland, Joss will be releasing her sixth album The Soul Sessions Volume 2 at the end of July.
James Shepard, Founder and Co-Director of Larmer Tree Festival, said: “Having Joss Stone gig with Yes Sir Boss is an unexpected but great bonus, which will only magnify an already fantastic evening of music and comedy. Yes Sir Boss is an exciting new band, which looks set to make waves on the music scene this year and is perfect for Larmer Tree’s ethos of supporting up and coming talent.”
The band will be playing at 6.55pm on the Main Larmer Tree Stage and then again at 11.45pm in The Social. The first artists to be signed to Joss’s own record label Stone’d Records, Yes Sir Boss are a playful rootsy ska group from Bristol. Larmer Tree audiences can enjoy their heavy blend of offbeat rhythms and epic riffs, which provide a perfect backing to their catchy lyrics and husky vocals - it’s music guaranteed to get everyone up and moving.
Joss Stone said of Yes Sir Boss’s music: “It’s real party music… you just want to dance and have fun.”
Yes Sir Boss will release their debut album Desperation State at the end of the summer, which will be followed by a 40 date tour filled with many shows n in Europe. If festival-goers can’t wait for July, they can check out their single Not Guilty here
