KATY B had a huge year in 2011 with her album “Katy on a Mission” achieving massive success charting at number 2 and the singles “Lights On”, “Broken Record” and “Katy On a Mission” all landing in the top 10. The 21 year old from Peckham is a graduate of the BRIT School powerhouse and her edgy, fresh sound combines dubstep, house and pop. Katy’s live tour sold out venues across the UK last year and she tours with a full 10 piece live band complete with horn section.  We can’t wait to welcome Katy B and her full live band to Wakestock this summer!

Joining Katy on the bill is US rapper, singer and future uberstar AZEALIA BANKS who will be hitting the shores of North Wales from Harlem, New York. Signed to Universal Records, Banks is being tipped as the hottest new act of 2012 and has already topped NME’s “Cool List” for the year. Banks also finished third in the BBC’s sound of 2011 poll. Miss Banks is busy at work on her debut album and has been teasing her audience with gems like 212 – a certifiable club banger! Azealia is embarking on her first full sell out UK tour this month – make sure you don’t miss her set at Wakestock.

The last few years have seen FLUX PAVILION smash up the bass music scene with his high energy dubstep. Having only started producing in late 2008, the last few years have seen him position himself firmly in the record boxes of the dubstep A-list. The young Flux has also started his own fledgling empire with the infamous DOCTOR P. Together they set up Circus Recordings, one of the most popular new dubstep labels around. Best known for his 2011 single “Bass Cannon” he was shortlisted for the BBC’s Sound of 2012 poll. Flux has proved to be one of the heavy hitters on the dubstep scene and will no doubt raise the roof at Wakestock this year.

DOCTOR P is the stage name of the dubstep record producer and DJ, Shaun Brockhurst. Doctor P is immersed in experimenting with new sounds, and is a huge part of the emerging sub-genre of more energetic bass-driven dubstep. When he posted his new track ‘Sweet Shop’ on his MySpace to test for interest, little was Doctor P to know that this single was to change the sound of dubstep and encourage a whole new generation of dubstep fans. With the recognition that his work earned him, the phenomenon of Doctor P grew and he started DJing globally, and remixing for respected artists such as Dan le Sac, Example and Plan B. Wakestock will love him.

YOUNGMAN has the vocals and presence of a future star. Having started out as Benga & Skream’s MC he’s now making his own album and Skream and Benga, and MJ Cole and producing tracks. Radio 1 love him and he’s been awarded such accolades as Zane Lowe’s Next Hype, MistaJam’s Jam Hot and Annie Mac’s Record of the Week, while 1Xtra have hailed him the saviour of all mankind. If they ever did a dubstep week on The X Factor, Youngman could be a guest mentor! Youngman has been described as “The future of pop” by Radio 1’s Annie Mac and is one to watch in 2012. Look out for him at this year’s festival.

Katy B, Azealia Banks, Flux Pavillion, Doctor P and Youngman join Calvin Harris, Dizzee Rascal, Ed Sheeran, Rizzle Kicks, DJ Fresh Live, High Contrast feat Jessy Allen and Dynamite MC and Burns on the Wakestock 2012 bill, and if that wasn’t enough they have still got loads more announcements to come your way in the next few weeks.
