Kendal Calling returns to the stunning surrounds of the Lake District’s Eridge Deer Park, from Thursday 28th - Sunday 31st July for four days of unbridled joy. Last year’s line up was always going to be a tough act to follow, but they have achieved it, by attracting the likes of Rudimental, Madness, Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds, Jason Manford, The Charlatans and Catfish & the Bottlemen.
But Kendal Calling is much more than just a music festival, it has arts installations, comedy, gourmet food, kid’s entertainment and a real ale.
Here are a few of the pleasures you can expect at this year’s Kendal Calling.
Lost Eden – an area where you can enjoy newly commissioned sculptures, performance art, talks, pop up cinema, virtual reality plus a wide range of music from the likes of: The Lost Disco: Kag Katumba, Soul Swing, Act.Natural, Kerouac, Symetrik, TwoGood, Olsen, Kahwe and House of Wax.

Woodlands Stage – as the name suggests its sits in the woods, it’s a great place to chill out and get the opportunity to see performances from musical legends, plus local bands at the start of their journey.

The Food – Kendal rightly prides itself on the quality of its food for both meat eaters and vegetarians. The festival has some of the best food vendors in the country providing food from around the world together with British classics like Strumpets with Crumpets and Barnaby Sykes.
Chai Wallahs – brings together the pleasure of eating and drinking with an eclectic mix of music from around the world, this years line up includes: Lack Of Afro, Will Varley, Hot Feet, The Mouse Outfit, The Allergies, Guts and The Conservatoire Folk Ensemble.
Real Ale Festival – yes Kendal has a festival within a festival. The real ale festival includes various ales from local breweries they range from light golden ales through to porter. So no need for the mass produced lager and cider this weekend.
