Now in its fifth year, the positively flourishing Lakefest festival moves location to the glorious Eastnor Castle in Herefordshire. The new site promises to do this excellent family friendly festival full justice and FFA are hoping for further great things when the 2016 festival hits the fields 11th – 14th August.

This festival gets better year on year and our Festivals For All reviewers simply loved last year’s bash (read the Lakefest 2015 Review).

Lakefest have again upped the ante with an absolutely star studded line-up including Primal Scream, Cast, Starsailor, Afro Celt Sound System, Big Country, We Are Scientists, The Coral, Newton Faulkner, Roving Crows, Gaz Brookfield, Nahko And Medicine For The People, Molotov Jukebox, Secret Affair, The Cracked, and Altern8 with a Live P.A. If that wasn’t enough the splendid 3 Daft Monkeys are on hand to entertain the early arrivals on Thursday evening!

If you’ve been lucky enough to attend any of the previous Lakefest’s you’ll already know that this festival is about much more than the music. There is a wealth of other activities to entertain and delight, and virtually all are free. Fancy a Treasure Hunt, Storytelling, Theatre Workshops, Yoga Kids and Yoga Adults, Mask Making, or a Walk-About Dragon Procession anyone? Don’t forget Lakefest’s famous BMX Display and Workshops - including Meet-And-Greet Signings with the Pros – last year’s cycling displays were breath-taking.

This year the festival is even offering hassled parents a Crèche facility too! Adults can also enjoy the Spa and Hot Tub offerings and some cracking real ales and ciders in a vibrant bar scene amongst much else in a fun packed weekend for everyone.

Although Lakefest is billed as a ‘family friendly’ festival – don’t for a moment think that there is not a strong ‘adult’ element to proceedings as well. The festival is great for all ages … and after dark the adults certainly do come out to play!
