The beautiful Larmer Tree Gardens, near Salisbury in Wiltshire, have been fascinating the public since the 1800’s. The Larmer Tree Festival has been doing similar since 1990 – typically to sell-out crowds.

A true ‘bijou’ event, strictly limiting numbers to 4,000, they turn the gardens into a magical multi-media music and arts event for five glorious days each July. Boasting over 80 diverse artists over six stages, a packed comedy schedule, and over 150 free workshops, it’s little wonder they need five days to cram all that goodness in!

Featuring everything from street theatre in the Flag Circle and across the site, to a top notch comedy club in The ARC, and an atmospheric main stage for the big players to strut their stuff, this really is one of THE events of the summer. After dark the festival arena morphs into a late night club scene featuring some of the best club sounds on the circuit.

Expect artists of the calibre of Levellers, Jools Holland, Amadou and Mariam, Roots Manuva, and Paloma Faith, plus class comedians such a Russell Kane, Tim Minchin and Milton Jones. Oh, and did we mention a film club, theatre performances, and spoken word events as well as the arts works and installations across the site?

This is a festival shunning commercial sponsorship to maintain their artistic freedom in presenting a top class, high quality event to a very discerning audience.

You can expect something all rather special this weekend in Larmer Tree Gardens.

Festivals For All are very lucky to be part of the select audience for Larmer Tree, and we hope to be reporting throughout the event. Watch out for the review!
