The Latitude Festival takes place this weekend, the festival’s strap line is ‘It’s more than just a music festival’ which is an understatement. The Latitude Festival is the ultimate performing arts festival, with a combination of music, comedy, dance, poetry, literary, cabaret, film and theatre spread over eighteen stages both large and small throughout the site.
The design of the site is quirky and you never quite know what to expect, art gallery in the woods, coloured sheep, or pop up theatres, there are plenty of activities to keep the children amused with on site kindergarten.
This years festival line up includes music from Paolo Nutini , Foals, Bellowhead and the local boy made good Ed Sheeran. Dance including performances by English National Ballet and Sadler’s Wells, film with BAFTA Presents: The Trip - Richard Curtis Q&A with Steve Coogan, Rob Brydon plus the creative team. The Comedy Arena will allow you to enjoy three days of non stop humour, the line up includes Alan Carr, Richard Herring and the, The Never Mind The Buzzcocks Team. The Poetry Arena has a combination of poetry and comedy alongside the hottest hip hop, slam poets, bizarre raconteurs, spoken word, storytelling and so much more.
The Cabaret Arena has a selection of sketch shows, Edinburgh previews, comedic genius, the weird, the wonderful to keep you entertained until the early hours, including Late Night Gimp Fight and The Razzle.
The list of things to do just goes on and on, not content with great entertainment you can expect a wonderful light show each evening, good food and drink together with a very friendly bunch of festival goers.
I dare you not to enjoy it!
