All Points East on Friday, August 23, 2024, wil feature LCD Soundsystem as the headliner, alongside an impressive supporting line-up. The event promises an eclectic mix of music, with notable acts such as Jai Paul, Pixies, Floating Points, Jockstrap, Nation of Language, Sofia Kourtesis (Live), Eyedress, and Vagabon. Loyle Carner was previously announced as the headliner for Saturday, 17th August.
LCD Soundsystem, formed in 2002 and led by James Murphy, is renowned as one of the most influential bands in the US. Their self-titled debut in 2005 featured hits like 'Losing My Edge' and 'Daft Punk Is Playing At My House.' The 2007 album 'Sound of Silver' earned critical acclaim and solidified their position in the neo-disco genre. The band's live performances, including a sold-out show at Madison Square Garden in 2011, contribute to their iconic status. After a brief hiatus, they returned in 2017 with 'American Dream.'
Jai Paul, the elusive pop phenomenon from London, gained fame with the glitchy pop demo 'BTSTU' in 2010. His leaked collection, 'Bait Ones,' in 2013, led to a hiatus, and he resurfaced in 2019 with 'Do You Love Her Now / He.' His upcoming performance at All Points East will mark his first UK festival appearance.
Pixies, an influential band from the late '80s alt/rock movement, consists of Black Francis, Joey Santiago, David Lovering, and Paz Lanchantin. With genre-defining albums like 'Surfer Rosa' and 'Doolittle,' Pixies' live shows are known for their electrifying and lo-fi experience.
Floating Points, known as Sam Shepherd, has been busy composing his first ballet, 'Mere Mortals,' for symphony orchestra and electronics. His 2021 album 'Promises' received critical acclaim and featured collaborations with renowned artists. His latest single, 'Birth4000,' contrasts with his orchestral pursuits, offering a dynamic dancefloor experience.
Nation of Language, a trio with a growing international audience, will make their All Points East debut, bringing their danceable take on new wave and post-punk. Sofia Kourtesis, based in Berlin, has rapidly risen in the electronic world, with her debut album 'Madres' receiving high praise.
Eyedress, a musician born in Manila and based in Los Angeles, gained popularity with the viral hit 'Jealous.' His versatility as a singer, songwriter, rapper, and producer is showcased in his latest record, 'FULL TIME LOVER.' Vagabon, the pseudonym for Laetitia Tamko, explores her electro-pop side in her third record, 'Sorry I Haven’t Called.'
All Points East promises an epic line-p with world-class headliners, curated supporting acts, and exclusive performances. In addition to LCD Soundsystem, UK rapper Loyle Carner will headline on Saturday, August 17. The festival is set to deliver a diverse and memorable musical experience in Victoria Park next summer.
