More additions made to The Revellers’ and The People’s Ear Stages Eastnor Castle Deer Park, Herefordshire 4th – 7th August 2011
Star of his own Well Good Show on BBC Three, Lee Nelson will tickle the funny bones of The Big Chill with his cheeky humour. Also joining the festival’s line-up are six more eclectic names spanning the dance, electronica and hip-hop genres including Kraak and Smaak, Kormac’s Big Band, Lazy Habits, Jehst, Sepalcure and Star Slinger.
The Big Chill is delighted to announce that comic LEE NELSON joins the bill with a special cocktail of fun and games best described by the man himself:
“When the boss of The Big Chill festival asked me if I’d do a couple of lines to help promote my WELL GOOD PARTY, this isn’t what I had in mind... LEE NELSON’S WELL GOOD PATY is a brand new idea that festivals have been crying out for. It’s a non-stop 2 hour party of jokes, games, beat-boxing, relay crowd-surfing, sing-alongs and sound clashes all hosted by me! With one aim only: to put a big festival smile on people’s faces. EVERYONE welcome!”
So there you have it - well good and not to be missed!
Amongst the latest additions to the musical offering at The Big Chill are Dutch duo Kraak and Smaak. The electronica pair are set to rock The Revellers Stage on Saturday. Also joining proceedings that day will be a live set from Kormac’s Big Band, a weighty 11-piece band combing a mix of live turntables with samplers, drums, double bass, barbershop quartet, trumpet, clarinet, banjo and live visuals.
Joining the Friday bill at The People’s Ear Stage are Lazy Habits, another performance on a grand scale with nine members commanding jazz-inspired beats, brass and bass. Jehst, the alias of YNR label founder William G. Shields, will be bringing some distinctly hip-hop sounds to the line up. Sunday’s armoury of all things dance gets ever stronger at The People’s Ear stage as Sepalcure, a collaboration between DJs Machinedrum and Praveen, and Manchester-based producer Star Slinger also sign up to spin The Big Chill decks.
Now a fully fledged member of the Festival Republic family The Big Chill is poised to build further on the successes of 2010. Last year saw an international line-up of some of the biggest selling names in electronic, indie and pop music and 2011 sees another all-star cast taking to The Big Chill stages including an exclusive UK festival appearance by Kanye West plus The Chemical Brothers and Rodrigo y Gabriela. The Big Chill takes place from 4th to 7th of August 2011 at Eastnor Castle Deer Park in Ledbury, Herefordshire. For Tickets Click Here
