Lounge on the Farm Festival 6th - 8th July 2012 Merton Farm, Canterbury, Kent

Exciting new additions to the line-up including Dexys Midnight Runners, License granted, Steel Shield Fence and what's new for 2012

The full license conditions for Lounge On The Farm 2012 were confirmed two weeks ago for the sixth year. Our capacity has been held at 10,000 for the second year running. Last year tickets sold out in advance, so tickets are in short supply. Get yours now so you don't miss out on what is shaping up to be the best Lounge yet!

The license also allows us to keep venues open later into the night, so the farm is set to be rocking into the early hours.

Line Up Additions
We're excited to announce some fantastic new additions to the 2012 line-up, including legendary British 80s pop supergroup Dexys, who will be making only one other festival appearance this summer. The band will be playing new hits from their highly anticipated fourth studio album 'One Day I'm Going to Soar' which is the first set for release on 4th June as well as old classics such as 'Come On Eileen'.

Dexys will be joined by indie alt-pop duo Summer Camp, armed with tunes from their critically acclaimed debut album "Welcome To Condale". Fellow Moshi Moshi signing Slow Club and London four-piece Theme Park have also been added to the bill alongside Mercury Prize nominee Ghostpoet, who will be bringing his eclectic sound to the farm. And not forgetting electronic hip hop act Sam Sure & Giacomo and multi-instrument playing siblings Kitty, Daisy & Lewis!

Other new additions to the line-up include solo guitarist Beans On Toast, The Wildes, Rae Morris, Karima Francis, Fountains, Murray James, Kito, yOb, Syd Arthur, The Pantomime Villians, Greater Varsa, Vadoinmessico and Scott McFarnon.

We're also thrilled to announce the initial line up for the Playhouse Comedy Stage which includes Andrew Maxwell, Paul Ince, Phil Kay and Terry Alderton, with even more names to follow soon farmers..! Critically acclaimed art-house troupe the Boom Boom Club have also just been confirmed for the farm, alongside some spoken word highlights such as Youtube sensation Mark Grist (check the Don't Flop Rap Battle online) and everyone's favourite battling female MC-poet Kate Tempest.

The Little Lounge Kid's area is getting ready for the UK's first ever Summer Panto as a bonkers Snow White production promises an eccentric take on a classic favourite. Kids are encouraged to take part in every aspect of the event, and there are lots more announcements to come from this special part of the festival.

These exciting new additions join previously announced headliners The Charlatans, Brits Critics Choice award winner Emeli Sande and pop rockers The Wombats, alongside our very special guests for the year, Chic featuring Nile Rodgers.

What's new for 2012?
The new look site will feature a full Steel Shield Fence running around the perimeter of the festival and the arena's inside, allowing for much safe security and ensuring that all ticket holders can be free to have as much fun in the safest possible setting. A brand new security company is coming on board to work alongside the festival organisers to ensure that the event is run in the most efficient manner possible.

To make things easier for everyone, an all new entrance to the site is being created to allow for better and quicker access on site for cars and customers on foot, meaning the smaller Nackington Lane road will no longer get clogged up so easily.

4 new bars are being installed into the Main Arena and the Meadows Field to allow for quicker pouring and purchasing, whilst the main Campsite has expanded by 25% to allow for more space for campers. The Family Area will benefit from a bigger area that is further away from the madness of the main arena, with kid's toilets and changing facilities being hired to allow for more comfort and less trials for families on the farm.
