To celebrate Meadowlands Festival’s agenda for discovering the brightest, best and up and coming talent from across the country we are excited to announce the launch of The Meadowlands Grassroots Competition.

Open to all genres of music and all combinations of musicians, so if you sing, play an instrument, are in a quartet or have a 10 piece band Meadowlands want to hear from you!

The competition prize is to play a slot at Sussex’s most creative festival – Meadowlands alongside the likes of LTJ Bukem, Speech Debelle and Lamb plus receive the ultimate rock star riders package!

All you have to do is send a YouTube link showcasing your best track along with a short bio of you or your band to:[email protected]   

Entrants will be shortlisted by a panel of industry professionals and featured on the Meadowlands Festival website and Facebook page where the artist with the most ‘likes’ will be crowned the 2012 Meadowlands Grassroots competition winner.

Lee Bennett- director of Meadowlands festival explains “This is a fantastic opportunity for any budding artist to showcase their material alongside some of the best in the music business. The fact that the winner will be chosen by the public is important because we believe that the real judges are the fans.” 

This year’s Festival will see over 80 bands, four stages, six club nights, spoken word and comedy, a charity casino, woodland area plus kid’s entertainment and workshops. Tickets are available from £20 - £85 for weekend tickets and £10 - £45 for day tickets (under fives go free) HERE
