Following the success of Bang Said The Gun at Meadowlands 2011, curators Dan cockril and Martin Galton will be wowing audiences for a second time with a hilarious line-up of comics and poets for ‘people who don’t like poetry’. As seen by 4 million viewers on channel 4’s Random Acts, Bang Said The Gun describe themselves as “Stand up poetry and delicious animation for people who don’t necessary sleep under duvets made from poetry books”.

Ian Mcillan quotes: “Band Said The Gun is one of the best poetry nights in the country; the combination of excitement, enthusiasm and deep, deep concentration on the poems is a wonder to behold! Long may it continue!”

Stick It On

For all of the budding DJ’s, Meadowlands is also playing host to Stick it on- a club event with a twist which gives the younger festival goers a chance to play 4 of their favourite tunes to a small audience. There is no resident DJ’s and no super star DJ’s at this club night. Move over LTJ, this club night is for the next generation. Stick it on describe themselves as “A night that never takes itself too seriously Stick It On aims to give you something different”. They have been described by Time Out Magazine as “A national phenomenon, for 15 minutes, ordinary folk get to play their favourite tracks to titanic reactions from a party loving crowd”.
