Irlam Live, the region’s brand new music festival bringing the best in original retro and soul acts to Prince’s Park in Irlam is set to rock Manchester this weekend.

From Friday 3rd to Sunday 5th June three uniquely themed days: Fake Friday, Boohoo.com Soulfest Saturday and Party Delights Retro Sunday will entertain the crowds at Prince’s Park with something for everyone to enjoy.

Fake Friday features an evening of the UK’s best rock tribute bands, a perfect warm up to a fun-packed weekend. Supreme Queen will headline, busting out a whole host of Queen’s biggest hit records. They’ll be joined by Bon Giovi, State of Quo and the hugely successful Robbie Williams tribute act Tony Lewis.

The Boohoo.com Soulfest Saturday is the first full day of entertainment and hosts big name stars from both the heyday of UK soul and recent defenders of the faith. Billy Ocean, the UK’s best-selling soul star, will headline with a full live band. Billy has recently released a new double album featuring brand new songs along with his classic hits, he has also recently featured on hit shows such as Celebrity Juice and Tonight At The London Palladium to celebrate the release. Other bands performing at Soulfest Saturday include Aswad, The Real Thing, Kenny Thomas and crowd favourites Omar and Junior as part of new soul band The British Collective.

Party Delights Retro Sunday brings everyone's favourites acts from the 70’s and 80’s to the stage for us all to enjoy! Spandau Ballet frontman Tony Hadley is to headline, performing all of the hits from his many successful years with the “Gold” superstars. He’ll be joined by Bay City Rollers starring Les McKeown, who are sure to take everyone back with their huge back catalogue of hits. Other retro acts include T’Pau, The Blow Monkeys and ‘Spirit in the Sky’ singers Doctor and the Medics.

Festival organiser Sam Butterworth from Staged Events said “This weekend is gearing up to be a fantastic 3 days of live music and we promise a weekend to remember for people of all ages, we would like to thank everybody for supporting a new festival which we aim to place firmly in Manchester thriving events calendar.”
