With just over two weeks to go until the Spellbound Forest here is what to expect on the last two stories; the magpie's nest and the Earl Mar's daughter, along with great news about extra trains on Sunday 20th...

Come to the magpie's nest, and help willow artists to create an enormous willow nest, that will stay on in the forest after we've all gone home. The structure will be large enough for a couple of families to fit inside, and everyone will learn to weave and twist as we watch the nest grow over the weekend.

The Wild Rumpus team are all a little bit in love with storyteller John Row as he weaves tall tales and enchanting fables through the woods. They are delighted to welcome him to the Spellbound Forest to tell the tale of the Magpie's nest with his own added magic.

The Earl Mar's daughter is set to be a spectacular visual path, where this enchanting story is told through beautiful hanging birds and birdcages. Words small and large will take you along the tale of the girl and her beloved dove.

As you set off along the path of the Earl Mar's daughter, tie an origami bird to a tree to add to our growing flock. You can find instructions how to fold a bird here.

They are also pleased to announce that Northern Rail are laying on extra trains to Delamere on the Sunday of the Spellbound Forest. Here is the special Sunday timetable for Sunday 20th May. For other train times and fares information visit northernrail.org or call National Rail Enquiries on 08457 48 49 50.

The wonderful visual designers, Lord Whitney, are working away to create a spellbinding wonderland for the festival for all to play in in May. Expect surprises around every corner, sumptuous sets surrounding the curious characters along the path, dramatic flags and flocks of birds. And, of course, the glorious ball in the centre of the forest.
