A show about the population of Norfolk… starring the population of NorfolkAn illuminating and uplifting celebration of our county and our people, 100% Norfolk promises to be one of the highlight shows of the 2012 Festival.

We’re currently assembling a cast of 100 people from across Norfolk with the aim of making it as statistically representative as possible of the county’s total population of 862,000. For example, with 51%of the county’s population being female, we need to find 51 women and girls to take part. Other criteria will include age, location and place of birth.Once assembled, the 100% Norfolk participants will then work with professional theatre director Emma Bernard to create a unique performance. Interweaving personal stories with revealing insights into what it’s like to live in Norfolk in 2012, 100% Norfolk is a must-see for anyone who loves the place they call home.

100% Norfolk is based on an ongoing project by Rimini Protokoll from Berlin, which has so far included 100% Berlin, 100% Vienna and 100% Vancouver. The company’s work draws on the views of “experts in daily life” to create contemporary and imaginative productions where everyday people are the theatre’s principal characters.
