It's a veritable feast of arts, crafts, creativity and serendipitous FUN

The Vintage concept has been devised by designers; the event is delivered by designers, and guess what... Vintage has art and design flowing through its veins. Every element from the wristbands to the stages, venues and toilets will be touched by the hands of artists and designers. The Royal Festival Hall, one of the world’s greatest mid century pieces of architecture will be getting a three day 60th birthday suit for the duration of Vintage 2011.

Vintage celebrates art and design from the 1920s to the 80s and looks at today’s design classics to trace their lineage. Where do today’s artists and designers get their inspiration?

There will be catwalk shows featuring vintage clothes from museum collections and the archives of the world’s finest fashion houses. There will be exhibitions featuring design classics from furniture to technology, gaming machines, graphics and the coolest classic scooters, cars and motorcycles. Our partners from national art and design institutions delve into their archives to bring along some great pieces.

CCA ART BUS

The CCA Art Bus is thrilled to be returning to Vintage. The Art Bus is a mobile work of art designed by Sir Peter Blake, it is also a mobile art gallery. Sir Peter designed the bus in classic pop art style, with the aim of creating a rock 'n' roll tour bus for art and artists - being on board is like taking a trip back in time to the swinging sixties! Hop on board to see an exhibition of artwork by the Godfather of Pop Art including his iconic ‘Sgt. Pepper’ in our top deck gallery, or put your feet up in the lower deck groovy lounge area. Sir Peter will be on board over the course of the weekend...along with a few other surprises.
