The Heavenly Recordings Stage line up at the first ever OnBlackheath Festival has been announced including: Jagwar Ma, Radiophonic Workshop, Steve Mason, Toy, Stealing Sheep, Charlie Boyer and The Voyeurs, The Wytches, Kid Wave, Don Letts DJ set, Heavenly Jukebox DJ set & Dave Mclean (Django Django) DJ set.
Headlining the festival on the Sunday will be punk folk rocker Frank Tuner with support from Imelda May, Levellers, Athlete, Slowclub and Tom Hickcox.
Massive Attack will be headlining the Saturday 13 September with other artists including Aloe Blacc, Young Fathers and Hot Chip’s Joe Goddard with a VERY special guest still to be announced. The second stage will be hosted by national radio DJGilles Peterson who will be bringing an array of live music and DJ sets to hisWorldwide Stage. Confirmed to perform are BadBadNotGood, Hiatus Kaiyote, Anushka, Swindle (live), Zara McFarlane, Ibibio Sound Machine and DJ sets from Giles Peterson, Thris Tian (Boiler Room) and Bradley Zero.
As well as this eclectic music line-up and the immersive food experience with the unquie Food Stage and Gizzi Erskine's 'Chef's Club', the festival will host an array of exciting attractions including a silent disco, street & fringe theatre, amazing street food, Farmers Market, mixology demonstrations and drinks from award winning local brewers. The DJ arm of Heavenly Recordings, the Heavenly Jukebox has been playing records at festivals, clubs, gigs and parties since 1990.
Formed in 1990, Heavenly Recordings was founded by Jeff Barrett.In its history spanning over two decades the label has discovered and released records by influential artists including Beth Orton, The Doves and The Vines and is currently home to Temples, TOY, Stealing Sheep, The Wytches and Sea of Bees.
The first release on Heavenly was a 12” single by London House act Sly & Lovechild, produced by Andrew Weatherall.
The label created The Heavenly Social Club in 1994. Initially a Sunday evening club in the basement of The Albany in Central London, it was created to showcase the talents of two young DJs the label was championing at the time. Tom Rowlands and Ed Simons, together known as The Dust Brothers and The Chemical Brothers. The Heavenly Sunday Social was a pivotal moment in London club culture. The club was frequented by indie royalty Oasis, Primal Scream and The Manic Street Preachers.you that we will have something for every want and need!
