Watchet LIVE has teamed up with Live and Unsigned to give four acoustic unsigned bands and acts from the Cardiff Regional Final and Grand Final the chance to play at their 2012 festival!
The popular Somerset festival is an annual family friendly festival held in Watchet, Somerset and it returns for its sixth year as West Somerset's largest outdoor music event over the weekend 24th-26th August 2012.
Watchet LIVE
Watchet LIVE is a family friendly festival with amazing views of the stunning West Somerset coast line and beyond. Complete with; on site camping; 3 Stages, including the famous Croissant Neuf solar venue; over 50 live acts, bringing a wide range of high calibre musical acts not normally found performing in West Somerset at an affordable entrance price to all festival goers; along with Open Mic Tent, The Something Else Tea Tent, Food Court, Workshops, Festival Market, Real Ale and Cider Bar, Free Kids corner, on site Car Parking and much more.
Year on year Watchet LIVE receives thousands of requests from unsigned acts from around the region and across the UK applying to play at the festival, but spaces are always limited. So, for the first time, Watchet LIVE has joined forces with the Live and Unsigned competition to give festival gigs to four acts to perform at the award winning festival! The lucky winners will be chosen from the Cardiff Live Showcase Finals, as well as the overall Live and Unsigned 2012 champion, to play a slot at Watchet LIVE.

Chris Grayston, Managing Director of Live and Unsigned, said; 'We are delighted to announce that Live and Unsigned will now be offering acts the chance to play at one of the best festivals in Somerset. Watchet LIVE is as big a supporter of unsigned acts as we are and we can’t wait to see Live and Unsigned acts wow the crowds in 2012!'
Live & Unsigned is the biggest unsigned music competition for original unsigned bands and artists in the UK. It offers the winning act the chance to play at The O2 in London alongside some of the UK's best musicians as well as £100,000 in prizes, including an additional new main cash prize of £10,000 for the winning act to spend on development.
Auditions will begin in January 2012 and all acts in the competition are auditioned live. Acts that make it through the audition stage will get to perform to industry judges, A & R associates and celebrity guests. Judging last year’s competition and hopefully set to join the panel again in 2012 include Radio 1 DJs Annie Nightingale, Ras Kwame, Tom Deacon and Daniel P Carter, Kerrang’s Alex Baker and Happy Mondays star Bez.
