The music and arts festival that began in Lee Denny’s back garden seven years ago achieved record success over the weekend, with almost 2000 people making their way to Highams Hill Farm in Kent.

The sun had a huge part to play, along with over 100 acts across the weekend, keeping the punters smiling with an eclectic mix of music, art and spoken word.

Friday night saw Jakwob stun the main stage crowd with a pulsating live set, including a frantic appearance onstage from Lee himself.

‘I had to walk around the site with a guy from the council for seven house trying to convince him everything was OK, so by the time Jakwob was onstage I had a lot of pent up frustration to let out – his set sounded incredible so I had to run on and have a dance!’

Saturday kicked-off in beautiful sunshine with the orchestral Sea Stacks soothing lots of hazy heads, and as the second day progressed LeeFest neared capacity for the first time in it it’s seven year history.

Nearly 2000 people watched on as Mystery Jets lived up to huge expectation, charging straight into their headline set with latest single ‘Someone Purer’ and re-visiting older classics like ‘Young Love’ and ‘Two Doors Down’ to get LeeFest jumping.

Any profit made by the event is to be split between next year’s festival and Kids Company charity. Tickets for LeeFest 2013 will be on sale soon.
