A message from Rob Thompson – one of the organisers of this year’s Blues Festival Of Wales:

“Apologies to every-one for having to cancel the Sunday at the Blues Festival. I have only just got home myself so have been unable to post before now.

For those of you who were not on site overnight Saturday/Sunday, horrendous winds forced us to cancel the final day. It was so windy we were unable to open the dome stage, or the doors to the bar! Emir and Shelagh's stall got blown away and trees were crashing down in the woods. Most people already on site took the decision to leave early Sunday morning so hardly any-one would have been on site. Some roads were blocked, there was a very large tree half down right in the middle of Brynamman that would have taken all day to remove, we had to find a detour (non signed) to get home, rather than go over the top of the Black Mountain road, we tried but it was too windy to risk. I hope everyone got home safely.

Again, apologies to everyone, but there was nothing else we could do.”

Festivals For All hope that all got home safely and wish the very hardworking organisers of this splendid little event better luck next year.
