Special Competition Announced for the final UK festival of the year. 

A fantastic opportunity for local bands and DJ’s 

Perform alongside Dizzee Rascal, Professor Green, Katy B and more on the main stage.  

Featuring an immense line up including Dizzee Rascal, Professor Green, Katy B, Stooshe, Clement Marfo and the Frontline, Knife Party, Zane Lowe, Friction, Shy FX, Ms Dynamite, 16 Bit and The Prototypes, Shakedown Festival 2012 brings the biggest and best names in contemporary music to Brighton for one last festival outing. A very special guest headliner is confirmed but yet to be announced for the Supercharged Arena.  It’s a biggie! 

Shakedown Festival have teamed up with drinkinbrighton.co.uk to create a once in a lifetime opportunity for undiscovered local talent, a competition with two winners, one band and one DJ.   

The prize will see the victors performing on the main stage of Shakedown which is hosted by Union and Coalition and they will be performing alongside the likes of the irrepressible Dizzee Rascal, genuine pop superstar Professor Green and queen of the underground Katy B. 

Entering couldn't be easier - go to www.drinkinbrighton.co.uk/shakedown and submit a 30 min mix for DJs or for bands, one all important track.  The deadline for submissions is midnight on the 27th July.

Entries will be narrowed down to the best 20 DJs and best 20 bands - these will be announced on Wednesday the 1st of August after which, they will face a public vote.  Voting will take place up until midnight on Wednesday the 29th of August with the finalists being announced on Fri 31st of August.

 
From there, the most popular bands and DJs will compete live at Riki Tik and Coalition in September until one from each is crowned the champion - taking their set to the main stage of the festival to perform in front of thousands on the 6th of October.

This is a fantastic opportunity for emerging artists and Shakedown is proud to give aspiring talent a platform to further their careers.
