Last week T in the Park organisers thrilled fans by announcing an amazing bill of the biggest bands and best breakthrough acts on the planet, and today Simian Mobile Disco, Howler and Clouds join the array of acts heading to Balado between 6th – 8th July.
Electronic pioneers Simian Mobile Disco, aka James Ford and Jas Shaw are set to tear it up with their massive party vibe. Masters of remix and maestros of pulsating, rock-edged electro, their live shows are famed for their awesome visuals as much as they are for their incredible atmosphere. James is the production mastermind behind Ceremonials - the latest release by fellow T in the Park 2012 act Florence + the Machine.
Much-hyped Minneapolis five-piece Howler has been hailed as one of the best new bands of 2012 by NME, with front-man Jordan Gatesmith also featuring in the magazine’s Cool List. Their gritty blend of fast-paced, gutter rock has earned them countless comparisons to label-mates The Strokes, and they are sure to get the crowd jumping with a breathtaking set.
Local lads Clouds hail from Perth, and bring their progressive house/electro beats to Balado. The hotly tipped duo have caught the attention of legendary techno label Turbo, and their booming basslines and pounding percussion are sure to win them a few new fans when they hit the T in the Park stage.
The T in the Park 2012 line-up was unveiled last week, with headliners Snow Patrol, The Stone Roses and Kasabian being joined by the biggest bands and best breakthrough artists on the planet. A host of T in the Park 2012 acts triumphed at the NME Awards last night, with Noel Gallagher being crowned Godlike Genius, headliners Kasabian winning Best British Band and The Stone Roses’ reunion hailed as the Greatest Music Moment of the Year. Florence + the Machine, The Vaccines and The Horrors also picked up gongs.
