“LodeStar -where you can look as though you are in the middle of nowhere but feel you’re at the heart of somewhere!”

LodeStar 2012 sees artists from around the world descend into the small village of Lode. First news of Sir Bob residents thought it must be a tribute act but LodeStar’s 2012 line-up does include Sir Bob Geldof, the Live Aid man himself along with a plethora of global artists producing quality music with many tipped to be future headliners by reviewers and fans alike!

LodeStar uniquely features a day of all-female line-up highlighting the unique talent of artists such as Michele Stodart, Karima Francis, Jodie Marie, Amanda Mair, Rae Morris and Sarah Howells of Paper Aeroplanes.

Cancer Research UK has a presence at LodeStar for the first time and flags decorated over the 3 days are helping to raise funds in a way of celebration. All the flag ‘makers’ will be able to join the Sunday morning parade led by Arcoiris the Cambridge based Samba band.

Latest addition to the line-up.

Last Dinosaurs, the hottest guitar driven indie pop band from Australia.

Fractures who recently gigged with Razorlight.

The Folk, three singing starlet young ladies from Hertfordshire have just been added to LodeStar 2012.

Other artists announced are:

Katzenjammer “Norwegian girl group who've taken Europe by storm with their great brand of music with their unique blend of folk, pop and rock using 15 instruments on stage.” BBC Breakfast time television.

BIGkids With Ben Hudson (Mr Hudson –“Supernova”) & Rosie Oddie, Bill Oddie’s bubbly daughter

Amanda Mair Amanda Mair bring ideas of a what a young, Swedish Dusty Springfield produced by Kate Bush might have sounded like if she arrived today. With melodies lit by sunlight and a voice that goes straight to the heart this is nothing less than pure magic.

Late night dj’s, through to theatre, comedy and burlesque add to the entertainment.

RSPB will be organsing a workshop to make Dragonflies and taking festival-goers on a guided nature walk to see real dragon flies!

National Trust will also be there with a stall and joined by country craftsmen giving demonstrations of skills past by.

Uniquely LodeStar’s festival arenas are designed to lend themselves to making the natural environment part of the ‘art installation’. Across the three days the time of day, the music sets the mood and all tastes can follow where their mind takes them. From the front of stage pushing arms into the air and dancing crazily to holding back and picnicking with your children on the vast expanse of grass on offer.

It takes around twenty-five minutes to walk one end to the other, forget mud and think clean loos and green fields to camp on, talking of which camping is free, as are campervans and caravans. This makes LodeStar’s three days cheaper than many camping holidays. All of which looks to make LodeStar a big event this year, cutting edge line-up, masses of entertainment, offering value and still relatively unknown on the festival circuit.

So far LodeStar’s line-up includes:

The Go! Team, Ryan Keen, Last Dinosaurs, The Rocket Dolls, The Folk, Sir Bob Geldof, Katzenjammer, BIGkids, Inouwee, Luminites, Glass Pear,

Fractures, Violas, Dead Wolf Club, Michele Stodart, Paper Aeroplanes, Karima Francis, Jodie Marie, Amanda Mair, Rae Morris,
