The travelling festival that is Sonisphere returns to Knebworth House for its 3rd year this weekend. Sonisphere has come a long way in a short space of time and this year the organisers have decided to make history with the first ever big 4 show on English soil Metallica, Slayer, Megadeth and Anthrax along with Diamond Head play on Friday in what is sure to be every metal heads fantasy dream.
Saturday sees the controversial headliners Biffy Clyro take on the metal masses, but a festival is not just about the headliners, the undercard sees the likes of Sylosis, Cavalera Conspiracy, Weezer, Black Spiders, Gojira and The Sisters of Mercy
Sunday is Slipknots day and the organisers are giving you the chance to pay your respects to Paul Gray who tragically passed away last year, with a book of remembrance and a 2 minute silence fans will get their chance to say goodbye in what will be an emotional day. Other bands playing Sunday include In Flames, Airbourne, The Answer, Orange Goblin, Motorhead and for the first time ever Bill Bailey will be headlining the Saturn Stage, in what is being billed as the biggest outdoor comedy event of the decade.
Sonisphere’s no clashes policy is in force again this year for acts on the main stage (Apollo) and second stage (Saturn) giving you the chance to catch all the big artists playing this weekend.
Bands to watch out for over the weekend are Slam Cartel, Saint Jude, Revoker and the leaders in Indian heavy metal Demonic Resurrection.
