Wychwood Festival which returns to Cheltenham Racecourse from Friday 31st May - Sunday 2nd June, has unveiled its stellar line up for 2024, promising an exceptional weekend filled with music, comedy, and diverse activities for all ages. Headlining on Saturday, is the iconic Texas, led by Sharleen Spiteri. With ten studio albums and over 40 million records sold worldwide, Texas recently released "The Very Best Of 1989 - 2023" and delivered a triumphant performance at Glastonbury Pyramid Stage in 2023. On Sunday, Britpop favourites Ocean Colour Scene will take the stage, accompanied by the bluesy sounds of Seasick Steve and the melodic tunes of Lightning Seeds celebrating 35 years of success.
The Garden stage, showcasing emerging talent, will feature Yorkshire's post-punk six-piece Deadletter, Dutch indie band Pip Blom, and Welsh psych-rock band CVC and Buzzard Buzzard Buzzard. Stornoway, formed in 2005, will headline The Garden on Friday night, while Peter Hook & The Light will captivate the audience on Saturday night, celebrating the enduring influence of Joy Division and New Order. Dexy's, led by Kevin Rowland, will close the festival on Sunday night.
The main stage will host Ivor Novello winners The Feeling, multi-platinum pop band The Hoosiers, indie punk quartet The Futureheads, Scottish powerhouse Callum Beattie, and the return of fan favourites Thrill Collins and Mr Motivator for a Saturday morning workout.
The late-night comedy line up includes Jason Neale, Mark Cram, Ester Manito, and Andrew White on Friday; Cerys Nelmes, Burt Williamson, Kate Martin, Roger Monkhouse, and headliner Marcus Brigstocke on Saturday; and Chris Brooker, Martin Mor, Pierre Novellie, Alex Kealy, and Scott Bennett on Sunday.
Howlin’ Pete's venue, a fan-favourite, will host parties and activities, featuring Barrioke with Shaun Williamson, NOASIS, Junior Jungle, Hip Hop Karaoke, and The Daniel Wakeford Experience.
Wychwood Festival is set to offer more than 100 activities and workshops for families, including Taskmaster Education inspired by the BAFTA-winning show, magic workshops, squiggles and doodles with illustrator Gemma Hastilow, laughter yoga, circus workshops, samba bateria, funky junk drumming, street performers, open mics, and buskers.
Moving to a new and improved site at Cheltenham Racecourse, Wychwood Festival continues to thrive as one of the UK's premier family festival, demonstrating consistent year-on-year growth under the leadership of Festival Director Iain Game. The anticipation is high, and Wychwood Festival is poised to deliver another unforgettable experience for festivalgoers of all ages.
