Stop Making Sense 2012 August 2-6 2012 The Garden, Tisno, Croatia

Promising sunshine, smiles and non-stop dancing Stop Making Sense 2012 announces the boat parties that give the event that little extra sparkle.

Offering four hours of blissed-out bouncy vibes or mischievous mayhem twice a day, the Stop Making Sense boat parties are an institution, sailing from The Garden around the islands on Tisno’s beautiful coast, and providing some of the most memorable sets of the whole festival. And with eight of  Stop Making Sense’s biggest party-starting crews taking charge, you’d better grab tickets now, here:

On Thursday August 2 the boat party bonanza kicks off with purveyors of underground disco, house and techno sounds Electric Minds taking the first tour. Blog collective Bridging the Gap are next, promising a party to remember. On Friday August 3 Benji B’s soundsystem sensation Deviation takes the party on tour, before alternative party people Finger Lickin’ take over. Saturday August 4’s first party is all about African-inspired beats from Paris collective Secousse, and then eclectic masters Trouble Vision take over and up the party ante, while Sunday August 5 has house, techno and disco from Warm, followed by the renowned Secretsundaze crew who move us into night time. And finally on Monday August 6 East London’s raucous rumblers Dalston Superstore send the Stop Making Sense boat parties out in style, before DURRR wrap it all up with some cutting-edge disco and dancefloor destruction.

But this sunshine festival extends beyond the music. Stop Making Sense follows its announcement that Anomalous Visuals and {ourhistory} will present an alternative late-night chillout area at the festival with some details on what to expect. CINE A.M. features bespoke live audio/visual performances from Anomalous Visuals and working around the elemental themes of LIFE//SPACE//CHAOS, each night presents a new aesthetic for those who want to relax under the full moon to a feast of visual wonders. Following each live performance will be a rare screening of cult club culture documentaries from the {ourhistory} archives, including ‘Club Culture’ (1988) and ‘SubBerlin: The Story of Tresor’ (2008). Here’s a taster of what you can expect from CINE A.M.:

The lineup for Stop Making Sense 2012 is stronger than ever – where London, Berlin and Paris collide – and brings together the cream of dance music talent for five days and nights of partying by the sea – with Lil’ Louis, Benji B & MC Judah, Ron Trent & Chez Damier, Move D, A Skillz, Adrian Sherwood, Steffi, Deetron, plus Tortured Soul, Jimmy Edgar and The Correspondents live! And Dark Sky, Daniel Avery (Stopmakingme), Nick Höppner, Sketchy, Moxie, George Fitzgerald, Etienne Tron, Hannah Holland, Another Amit and Sven Weisemann, as well as a whole list of others…

The music programme runs 12pm until 1am in Tisno, with two stages, boat parties, a private beach, tiki bars, and much more… From 11pm to 7am, the late-night action continues at the local Barbarella’s open-air club. There’s nothing better than partying under Croatian stars until a steady sunrise takes revellers into a new day of the nonsensical and the sublime.

Stop Making Sense is a music and dance festival, a summer haven and a sunshine getaway all rolled into one. But it’s really mostly about a true love of music. Get involved!
