Sunrise 2012 is amazingly just around the corner, and this year may prove to be an exciting milestone in human evolution.Sunrise took its name from the Summer Solstice, were it began 7 years ago, when Glastonbury Festival last had a year off. Returning once again to the solstice marks the completion of a cycle for the festival, and the beginning of something new and exciting.

7 years on and Sunrise is multi-award winning and highly acclaimed, whilst still as rootsy, underground and cutting edge as it ever was, but now with some added magic, wam-bam and razz-ma-tazz  learned along the way...

Sunrise Solstice Gathering and the opportunity of an Extra Day at the festival... 

1000 ticket holders will have the opportunity to gather at Sunrise on Solstice eve, 20th June, the night before the festival officially begins, for a night of rootsy ceremony and unplugged celebration - culminating in seeing in the solstice dawn. An extra Day at the festival, and all we want is for you to give a £5 donation to The Natural Communities Foundation on the gate. There will be ceremony in a newly created Sacred Henge, fire shows, performance, fire side jamming and collective magic.  A chance to gather in the same way our ancestors have for thousands of year - connecting to the magic of the earth, the sky and the power and potential of the present point in human history. 

How to apply for your Solstice ticket: 
Applications open on 21st December 2011, Winter Solstice, and you can only apply if you already have a ticket (or when you buy your ticket).30 earlybirds are still available so there is still a chance for a discount on top.If you are buying your ticket at the same time as applying for the Solstice extra day:* you will just need to check the box 'Apply for Solstice Extra Day' on the ticket agents website & mark how many solstice upgrades you want.* you will receive an 'all-inclusive Solstice ticket' rather than your usual full adult ticket.* When you arrive on Wednesday night, you will pay a £5 feeIf you already have an earlybird ticket:* You have a priority place we will send you an email confirming your arrangements.
