Festival No. 6 will be introducing the Clough Stage this year to showcase the best in Wales across the weekend and have invited Sŵn to curate Friday's music.
Sŵn's John Rostron said: "Sŵn is pleased to be part of this years Festival No. 6 with an all Welsh line up featuring wonderful musicians. Geraint Jarman has been an influence and inspiration for decades in Wales, a poet, barrier breaker and new music supporter. Yr Ods have played Sŵn many times and are one of Wales' finest young guitar bands. Cowbois Rhos Botwnnog are a revelation, beautiful folk and country musicians and were nominated for the Welsh Music Prize 2012. Finally Georgia Ruth has released one of our albums of the year, Week of Pines, supported by Steve Lamacq and Jo Whiley and is another Sŵn favourite."
Robin Llewelyn of Portmeirion added: “Festival No.6 is all about creating a sense of place and of being part of a celebration of the creative arts in a unique environment. It is fitting that the festival should reflect and celebrate the best of contemporary Welsh culture in all its diversity; this gives the festival a sense of belonging and an identity or character all its own.”
Finders Keepers Records and Welsh promoters Nyth Gwydir curate the remainder of the weekend, all helping create a bespoke mix of Welsh and international artists and collaborators.
Festival No 6 2013 takes place at Portmeirion, Gwynedd, between Fri 13th to Sun 15th September 2013 Tickets on sale here.
