A limited release of T in the Park tickets went onsale this morning at 9am, and organisers DF Concerts and founding partner Tennent’s Lager have been overwhelmed by the phenomenal demand from fans, who quickly snapped up the Christmas allocation.

This morning was the first chance for music lovers to get their hands on tickets since organisers thrilled fans by announcing The Stone Roses as the first headline act of the festival in early November.

This morning’s on sale saw half of the total allocation of festival tickets disappear fast. The entire festival bill will be announced over the coming months with the final batch of tickets going on sale in February 2012.

Festival Director Geoff Ellis said: “We’re delighted by the response from fans this morning and can’t wait to see everyone at Balado next year. The response to The Stone Roses announcement has been fantastic and the rest of the bill is shaping up nicely - we can’t wait until February to share it with the best audience in the world.

For those not lucky enough to have already guaranteed their place at Balado next summer, the final batch of T in the Park tickets will go on general sale in February 2012.
