Film Screenings, Jazz, Alternative music, and more are all on the cards at The Georgian Theatre as part of Stockton Weekender from Fri 3 to Sun 5 August.

The Georgian Theatre, located in Green Dragon Yard, will play host to a mixture of events as part of the three-day extravaganza, with entertainment free to all during the day and free to those with Weekender wristbands on an evening or a small charge for those without.

On Friday a series of local band’s music videos will be shown on the Georgian’s big screen; a perfect chance to experience some of Teesside’s talent before seeing the acts live on stage.

Later in the day will see the Stockton premier of Hartlepool documentary The Can House. The film takes a look inside the infamous council house in Hartlepool, which is covered in intricate patterns made entirely of Foster Cans.

After events have wound up on the Riverside the official After Show Party will commence featuring Manchester six piece Folks, who impressed crowds at this years Stockton Calling and count Noel Gallagher and Miles Kane amongst famous fans. Support comes from Durham foursome The Castells

Saturday sees a wave more of local acts take to the Georgian stage. Sailors & Saints, Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaind, J.B.B.S, Lifeless, Raptastic and Shrug create an almighty line up for the Alt Day; a day dedicated to rock, punk and the alternative side of the Teesside music scene.

Once The Pogues have finished entertaining the crowds down on the Main Site, Middlesbrough promoters The Kids Are Solid Gold present the official After Show Party. Scottish group The Imagineers and the critically acclaimed Nottingham band Michael A Grammar help round the day off in style.

Sunday sees the return of the ever popular Jazz Day, programmed by Jazz Action, featuring The Funk Regulators, ACV, Zoe Gilby Quartet, Legohead, Djangologie, Paul Edis Sextet and Wilbur’s Fate.

Events are free during the day; once capacity is reached entry will be on a one in, one out basis. The After Show Parties are free entry to those with festival wristbands or £3 to those without; again, once capacity is reached entry will be on a one in, one out basis.
